Building Revenue Through Offline Networking

by Greg Digneo on March 3, 2009

In the world of social media, we often forget that there are a lot of options for face to face networking that can help you grow your business.  Joy Kennelly of The Joy Writer PR & Marketing recently decided to implement such a marketing strategy and is reaping the benefits.  Below is her story:

One thing I’ve done differently to increase business for the first time in my career is join SoCal Business Networking International which is one of the leading referral generating organizations in the world today.

I’ve visited numerous similar groups in years past and never joined because I didn’t think it was for me. In 2008 I decided it was time to get serious and step up my marketing efforts above and beyond my regular PR and marketing efforts and become more disciplined in my approach to pursue new business.

In less than six months of being a member of Beach Cities Professionals chapter in Manhattan Beach, CA I paid back my membership through the new business I generated from this group; I learned more effective ways to present my services through the extensive training that is offered at a very minimal cost; and I developed professional relationships that are taking me to the next level through informal mentoring and one-on-one meetings apart from our main weekly meeting.

My Beach Cities Professional group is helping me change the way I run my business, how I present myself with new marketing materials and presentation skills, and giving me more confidence in my abilities because 30 other people are rooting for my success and helping me achieve my goals. I highly recommend BNI as a way to market in this economy.
