All of us in small businesses face daily challenges. Whether it’s marketing in a recession, the high cost of health care, finding a vendor, or closing that big sale, we are constantly trying to build a sustainable and profitable business for ourselves and our employees. Even though everyone will tell you that you are not alone, it’s sometimes hard to believe them.

A Morning Jolt will find the most pressing issues that small businesses are facing, explore how the successful businesses are these problems, and deliver the solutions to you in an email every Tuesday and Thursday morning. (My hope is that as I get better at this and the popularity grows, the frequency of the emails will increase.)

First Topic: “Marketing in a Recession”

It seems that many small businesses are worried about the current economic down cycle and wondering if they will have enough money to spend on marketing and advertising. I asked well over fifty small businesses for creative, low cost marketing ideas and I was absolutely amazed at the responses. Responses range from successful cold calling techniques to winning social media strategies. Over the next few weeks, I will share each business’s story, as the information I’ve received is far too valuable to keep to myself.

As with each issue I encourage you to implement whatever will work, discard whatever will not work for your business, , and share freely with anyone who may benefit from A Morning Jolt.
